He may only be able to do this do to his connections to the Medallion of Power. In addition, he can extinguish the power of the Medallion within its users, transferring them back to human form instantly.

Abilities
The true extent of his abilities remain a mystery.

Other Info
Caretaker has existed since before Atlantis. He is a member of the supernatural Blood. The Blood appear to be capable of slowing the human aging process and are immune to conventional diseases. As a member of the Blood, Caretaker has superhuman strength and durability. He can also teleport (each member of the Blood appears to have very powerful mystical gifts). The Blood joined together to protect the Earth from supernatural threats. The demon Zarathos and his minions were their greatest threat. Zarathos was attempting to obtain a magical talisman, known as the Medallion of Power. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the place/people/item.)

In addition to the Blood, Zarathos was opposed by other mysterious beings known as the Spirits of Vengeance. However, eventually the Spirits of Vengeance had to sacrifice themselves to defeat Zarathos. (They managed to imprison Zarathos' essence within the Medallion of Power; however, in order to do so, the Spirits of Vengeance's had to imprison themselves within the medallion too.) The Caretaker decided that the medallion was to powerful to be possessed by any one person, so he managed to shatter it into four pieces. (The Caretaker during this time is shown in the third picture posted.)

The four pieces of the Medellion of Power were given to two human families, with a lineage of one male and one female in each family inheriting a quarter. Two of these fragments were passed on through generations and unwilling inherited by Michael Badilino and his sister. The other two were intended for Johnny Blaze and his sister, Barbara Ketch. However, they had a brother by the name of Daniel Ketch who received a piece of the Medallion instead of Barbara. The Caretaker assumed the role of protector of these families. Caretaker took up residence in the Salem Fields Cemetery in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, New York. Later Caretaker introduced himself to Daniel Ketch and Johnny Blaze. Not long after that, Doctor Strange appeared to warn them of the coming of the demon queen Lilith and her hoard of demons known as the Lilin. (Click on the highlighted names above, to learn about the different characters/group. Note: Beware of the revealing outfit worn by Lilith on her bio page and the Lilin's bio page.)

Later, the Lilin would proof to be the least of Caretaker's problems because a new threat arose when a traitorous angel sought to claim Heaven for himself--Zadkiel. To accomplish his goal, Zadkiel had to enlist earthly subordinates to eliminate any who would threaten his mission. In a bitter act of betrayal, Zadkiel coerced Daniel Ketch to confront and destroy the Caretaker. However, Ketch didn't face the Caretaker alone, he had help: Blackout, Doghead, Death Ninja, and Orb. The Caretaker wasn't about to go down without a fight, but the numbers were against him and eventually he was killed. However, before the Caretaker died, he was able to call upon his granddaughter, Sara, and was able to pass the mantel of Caretaker onto her. In the movie Ghost Rider, the Caretaker goes by the name of Carter Slade (a different Marvel character that was originally named Ghost Rider, but later changed to Phantom Rider to make way for the new version). However, the character in the movie is credited as the Caretaker. Once again, Marvel Entertainment has merged two characters into one for the movies. 1. I think it's kind of funny when a character's powers are a "mystery." I mean, come on - did they forget to write them or something? Did they write them and then wipe their own memory?

This is different from immeasurable by the way. Galactus is so powerful they can't quantify him... this guy it seems like they just got lazy ;-)
