Other Info

Hundreds of years ago, a group of humanoid aliens settled the largest planet in the Keystone Quadrant star system. The aliens built a complex to house and treat the insane (aka "Loonies"). The recorded their medical observations in a psychiatric diary. However, when their funding was cut, they abandoned the project. Before they left, however, they created a staff of robots to provide for the humanoids. They left animals to help the patients as well. They then separated the planet from the rest of the galaxy with an force field called the "Galacian Wall." However, when a nearby star went nova, the robots gained sentient life. Wanting to end their servitude to the Loonies, the robots used genetic engineering to give intelligence and awareness to the animals. They then gave the animals with responsibility to protect and care for the Loonies. The robots then relocated to the other side of the planet to create a starship and find a way to shut down the force field. Thus, the half-industrial, half-verdant planet became known as "Halfworld." (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the group and/or places.)

One of the animals engineered with intelligence and awareness was a raccoon who went by the name of Rocket "Rocky" Raccoon. He became Halfworld's chief law officer who protected the colony against various threats. Rocket was the captain of his starship named "Rack 'n' Ruin," whose first mate was Wal Rus. (To learn about the about Wal Rus, click on  his highlighted name above. Also, Rocket during this time is shown in the third picture posted above.)

As the animals continued to care for the humanoids, the robots provided machines, weapons, and toys for the animals to use. Toys played an important part in Halfworld society due to serving as entertainment for the Loonies. Without toys, the Loonies would lapse into a deep melancholy; therefore, the animals made certain nothing interrupted toy production. As time passed, the physicians of old became known as "Shrinks" in the legends of Halfworld. And the psychiatric diary they kept became an indecipherable icon called "Gideon's Bible." (To learn about Gideon's Bible, click on the highlighted name above.)

Eventually, a mole named Judson Jakes took over a toy factory and established his headquarters in the Spacewheel space station built by the tortoise Uncle Pyko. Pyko designed toys, weapons, an army of Killer Clowns, and the bat-like Drakillers who served Jakes. Soon, Jakes attempted to steal Gideon's Bible, which he believed would enable him to conquer not only Halfworld, but the entire Keystone Quadrant. It was at this time that the Hulk somehow had been transported to Halfworld. And it was Rocket Raccoon and Wal Rus that met up with the Hulk. Liking the two, the Hulk agreed to help them safeguard Gideon's Bible. Therefore, Rocket Raccoon flew themselves into the Cuckoo's Nest (the base of operations) where they discovered that Judson Jacks had not only stolen Gideon's Bible, but had also kidnapped Rocket's girlfriend/Wal Rus' niece: Lylla. Immediately, the three boarded the Rack 'n' Ruin and headed towards the Spacewheel. Once on the Spacewheel, Rocket went to search for Lylla. The Hulk ended up encountering Uncle Pyko, who realized that the Hulk's strength would give the opposition a great advantage, and teleported the Hulk back to Earth. Meanwhile, Rocket was able to retrieve the Gideon's Bible and rescue Lylla. (To learn about the highlighted characters, places, and/or teams above, just click on their names. Also, Rocket during his time with Hulk is shown in the fourth picture posted above.)

Later on, Lord Dyvyne forcibly took over and forced Jakes and Pyko out of the Spacewheel. This lead to Jakes relocating to Halfworlds's equator, where he reincorporated as Mayhem Mekaniks and had Pyko create more Killer Clowns and Drakillars to battle Lord Dyvyne to be the top toymaker. This lead to what is known as the "Toy War." At this point, Rocket Raccoon went after Jakes to end the war; however, when Lord Dyvyne had Lylla kidnapped to force a marriage between them to gain control of her fortune, Rocket and Wal Rus went to rescue her instead. After successfully rescuing Lylla, Rocket found out that both toy moguls allied themselves against him and his teammates. Therefore, Rocket and his friends fled to the robotic side of Halfworld where they found Uncle Pyko (he had taken and deciphered Gideon's Bible, learning the truth of Halfworld's origins) who betrayed Jakes in his quest to conquer Halfworld. Therefore, Pyko led the Rocket and his friends to the Head Robot, who combined the information contained in the volume with the robots' advanced technology to create the Wonder Toy helmets. The four animals distributed the helmets which cured the Loonies. Now, with their army of robots and humanoids, Rocket and his friends defeated both Judson Jakes and Lord Dyvyne's combined forces. Afterward, some animals volunteered to stay behind and help the humanoids rebuild their world, but Rocket and the other animals went with the robots on their starship to explore space and its many worlds. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn more about the character, place, and/or item.)

Later on, Rocket Raccoon discovered that a group of renegade alien Skrulls were disguising themselves as the D'Bari race. Learning of this, the Skrulls fought Rocket Raccoon. He was actually doing well against the army until Taryn O'Connell and Razorback arrived. Their arrival distracted Rocket, and the raccoon was hit by a weapon that turned him into stone. Razorback and Taryn fought their way through the crowd to try to rescue Rocket, but a cage was dropped on them. All three were taken to prison. It was in prison that they met a fellow prisoner--She-Hulk. As a team, they worked together and were able to defeat the Skrulls and restore Rocket Raccoon to normal. Afterward, Rocket returned home to Halfworld. (Click the highlighted names to learn about the races and/or characters above. Note: Beware of the very form-fitting/revealing outfit worn by She-Hulk on her bio page.)

At one point, Rocket Raccoon was held prisoner by the Kree. It was during his time in jail, that he formed a rapport with a tree-like being known as Groot. He was then introduced and assigned to a covert ops team lead by Star-Lord to stop the Phalanx (an evil alien race bent on world conquering). They did eventually defeat the Phalanx; however, Groot sacrificed his life to buy their team time to escape. Most of Groot's body was destroyed, except for a small twig of him. It was Rocket Raccoon who took the sprig offshoot of Groot and eventually planted it in a pot, which allowed Groot to re-grow to full size. Afterwords, Rocket joined Star-Lord's proactive peacekeeping team known as the Guardians of the Galaxy, and created a firm friendship with Groot. (Click the characters and/or race's highlighted names above to learn more about them.)

Much later, after Star-Lord's supposed death, the team disbanded and Rocket Raccoon got a job as a mail carrier. However, after receiving a mysterious package filled with the same killer toy clowns from Halfworld, Rocket quit his job and immediately set out to locate Groot. Rocket eventually found his friend exiled on an island far off the planet. Rocket staged a rescue and, with much difficulty, was able to escape off the island with Groot. Rocket and Groot vowed to continue to keep Star-Lord's Guardians of the Galaxy team alive.

Soon after, Rocket Racoon and Groot found themselves caught in the Mojoverse run by the inter-dimensional TV producer known as Mojo. (Mojo used this dimension to host "television shows" by capturing heroes and pitting them against monsters, robots, etc.) Mojo decided to use Rocket and Groot in his latest reality television show. And if their "show" got cancelled, they would die in the process. Fortunately, the two found a way to escape. (To learn about Mojoverse and/or Mojo, just click on the highlighted names above.)

More recently, Rocket Raccoon, and a recreated Guardians of the Galaxy team, learned that Thanos had managed to get a Cosmic Cube from the United States Army and used it to escape to Moord--the homeland of the Badoon. Therefore, the team went to the Avengers Tower and informed the Avengers about the situation. So, the two teams joined forces to battle against Thanos and the Badoon. However, after Thanos had apparently killed the Elders of the Universe, he became one with the Cosmic Cube and killed the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy as well. But, in reality, they all had just been sent to the Cancerverse along with the Elders of the Universe. Once there, Iron Man (Tony Stark) found that Thanos' weapon wasn't actually a Cosmic Cube--it had defects. Therefore, they bargained with the Collector, in exchange of a weapon capable of deactivating the "Cube" and returned to Earth. Back on Earth, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, along with the Elders of the Universe, defeated Thanos. The Elders then took Thanos to punish him for his actions. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the characters, item, places, and/or teams.)

Groot's hide is composed of wood dense and durable enough to make him immune to most conventional weapons, including gunfire and fire which would normally consume most woods. He also has powers of the mind which allows him to communicate with other trees and command them to attack those that oppose him.

Abilities
He is highly intelligent and has a tremendous grasp of quasi-dimensional super-positional engineering.

Other Info

Groot posed as Divine Majesty King Groot the 23rd, Monarch of Planet X. He is a member of the Flora Colossus--a society of sentient trees, discovered by the Kree. (To learn about the above highlighted place and/or races, click on their names above.)

Groot first appearance on Earth was in search of humans that he wished to capture and bring back to his world as test subjects. As Groot waited in the woods outside a nearby community, he grew larger as he absorbed wooden objects into his body. The humans tried to resist; however, no fire or gunfire could penetrate Groot's hide. Over the next few days, Groot used his ability to control trees and plants to turn the forest into a make-shift army. However, it was a scientist named Leslie Evans who ended up using a specially bred colony of termites against Groot. The termites ate through Groot's hide and they appeared to have destroyed Groot. (Groot during his invasion on Earth is shown in the third picture posted.)

Later, however, Groot was seen alive in the Collector's "zoo" of giant monsters in Canada. (The "zoo" held such esteemed inmates as Fin Fang Foom, Gargantus, Grogg, and Rommbu, among others.) At one point, while the Collecter was away though, the Mole Man, invaded the Collector's lair and set the monsters free. The stampede of monsters eventually arrived in New York where they were engaged and defeated by the Thing, Hulk, Beast, and Giant-Man (Henry Pym). (To learn about the highlighted characters, team, and/or place, just click on their names above.)

Later on, Groot was being tracked down by a unit of the Howling Commandos of Area 13 (a branch of S.H.I.E.L.D. dedicated to tackling supernatural threats). Groot had hid and blended into the surrounding woodland; however, he was found by Sasquatch's sense of smell. The unit (also including Gorilla Man and Warwolf) disoriented Groot with high-pitch sonics and brought him down. Once he was brought back to Area 13, Gorilla Man informed Groot of his options: either join Area 13 as part of the the solution, or be imprisoned as part of the problem. Eventually realizing that Area 13 would just catch up to him again if he escaped, Groot offered to assist the Commandos. (Click on the highlighted teams and/or characters above to learn more about them.)

At one point, Groot returned to space. At his point, he began to change his ways and became a force for good. Unfortunately, at one point, he found himself in Kree space and he was quickly captured and imprisoned. It was during his time in jail, that he formed a rapport with Rocket Raccoon. He was then assigned to a covert ops team lead by Star-Lord, whose goal was to defeat the Phalanx (an evil alien race bent on world conquering). Groot and Star-Lord eventually did defeat the Phalanx; however, Groot sacrificed his life to buy his team time to escape. Most of his body was destroyed, except for a small twig of him. It was Rocket Raccoon who took the sprig offshoot of Groot and planted it in a pot. This actually allowed Groot to begin to re-grow. (Click the characters and/or race's highlighted names above to learn more about them.)

Later, restored to full size, Groot joined Star-Lord's new proactive peacekeeping team known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. During his time with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Groot faced off against many threats, such as the Badoons, the Negative Zone forces, and Blastaar. (To learn about the highlighted team, race, place, and/or character above, just click on their highlighted names.)

Groot played a pivotal part in the War of Kings--a war between he Shi'ar and the Inhumans/Kree. At the end of the war, the Inhuman King of the Kree, Blackbolt, detonated the Terrigen-Bomb which punched a hole in space/time known as The Fault--a doorway to a universe analogous to our own where there is no death (aka the Cancerverse). The first creature to come through was a giant squid that instinctively attacked the Inhuman city of Attilan. It was Groot that came up with the idea for a weapon to use on the giant creature. Together with the Inhuman prince, Maximus, Groot developed a Feedback Loop, which uncreated the creature's reality and reimposed their own thus unmaking the squid creature as well. However, after saving Attilan, the team had to face the Fault itself. The Many-Angled Ones (rulers of the Cancerverse) sent one of their agents, Magus (Adam Warlock), to attack them. Groot tried to help, but Magus was far too powerful and blew apart one of Groot's arms when he tried to attack; however, he was able to grow it back quickly. Ultimately, The Fault was stopped from expanding and Magus was defeated. However, many were killed during the battle, including Star-Lord and Mantis. (To learn about the above highlighted event, races, characters, and/or places, just click on their their names.)

After the War of Kings, the Guardians of the Galaxy were disbanded and Groot was forced to return to Planet X. It was then that it was revealed that Groot was not the true monarch of the planet but was one of the younger members of his race. For pretending he was their ruler, Groot was sent into exile to on an island far off the planet. He remained their until Rocket Racoon staged a rescue. It took much difficulty, but the two escaped the island.

Soon after, Groot and Rocket Raccoon found themselves caught in the Mojoverse run by the inter-dimensional TV producer known as Mojo. (Mojo used this dimension to host "television shows" by capturing heroes and pitting them against monsters, robots, etc.) Mojo decided to use Groot and Rocket Raccoon in his latest reality television show. And if their "show" got cancelled, they would die in the process. Fortunately, the two found a way to escape. (To learn about Mojo and/or the Mojoverse, just click on the highlighted names above.)

More recently, Groot, and a recreated Guardians of the Galaxy team, learned that Thanos had managed to get a Cosmic Cube from the United States Army and used it to escape to Moord--the homeland of the Badoon. Therefore, the team went to the Avengers Tower and informed the Avengers about the situation. So, the two teams joined forces to battle against Thanos and the Badoon. However, after Thanos had apparently killed the Elders of the Universe, he became one with the Cosmic Cube and killed the Avengers as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy. But, in reality, they had just been sent to the Cancerverse along the Elders of the Universe.

Interesting Note: Groot’s only spoken words are "I am Groot." It was Maximus of the Inhumans who theorized that Groot was really speaking in a clear dialect, but his larynx and vocal cords are too stiff and inflexible; thus, making it difficult for others to understand.

Powers
The full extent of Apocalypse's powers remain to be revealed, especially since his powers have been augmented by alien technology. Apocalypse claims to have control of his body on the molecular level; thus, allowing him to shape change and elongate with virtually unlimited range, to increase density and allow his body to mimic metals and armors, to teleport, and to be virtually immune to the effects of age. Apocalypse can also increase his strength (even more than the Hulk), grow to giant sizes, and fly-- sometimes through turning his arms into wings or jets. Apocalypse can also transform himself into a variety of human disguises. He has shown that he has the ability to absorb energy as well. Briefly, Apocalypse showed potential to be a powerful psionic. However, many of his regenerated bodies must use an exoskeleton body armor to prevent his energies from consuming him. Apocalypse can apparently merge/switch host bodies to continually revive his self-consuming body.

Abilities
Apocalypse is an extraordinary genius, and has knowledge in various areas of science and technology including physics, engineering, genetics, and biology--far more advanced than conventional science. This was not merely a result of his exposure to alien technology, as he was able to make significant new advances beyond the alien materials to which he was exposed. In addition, Apocalypse's blood can heal other mutants, but is fatal to humans. Also, his blood can also restore his de-powered mutant descendant.

Other Info
Around five thousand years ago, in ancient Egypt, when Pharaoh Rama-Tut ruled, a child was born as a member of a tribe in the Akkaba region. Being born with gray skin and blue lines running across his lips and face, he was feared by those in his tribe, and was abandoned. However, a band of nomadic raiders, known as the Sandstormers, slaughtered the tribe. But, when they found the abandoned infant, their leader (Baal of the Crimson Sands) took the child as his own. Baal gave the child the name of En Sabah Nur, “The First One.” Baal taught the child to be "strong" in order to survive the desert. As En Sabah Nur grew, he surpassed the other tribesmen in intelligence and strength. Everyone in the tribe, except for Baal, hated and feared En Sabah Nur for his inhuman looks and great abilities. However, En Sabah Nur hardened his heart against this as he believed in the principle that Baal and the tribe lived by: the strong will survive. (To learn about Rama-Tut, click on the highlighted name above.)

When En Sabah Nur was an adult, he was captured and forced into slave labor under the Grand Vizier Ozymandias. While a slave, En Sabah Nur quickly became a rebel. He also had a vision of the Egyptian death god, Seth, who urged him to become a conqueror. Due to his rebellious actions, En Sabah Nur was thrown into a pit of snakes; however, he survived when his superhuman powers activated. En Sabah Nur grew in size and strength and was attacked by the guards; however, he defeated them all. Soon after, En Sabah Nur discovered Rama-Tut’s technology. Rama-Tut (who was actually a time traveler from the far future, who would later become known as Kang the Conqueror) knew that En Sabah Nur was one of the most powerful mutants who ever lived and one who was destined to rule the word. That was why he had gone back in time--to find En Sabah Nur as a child and raise him; thus, become the master of the most powerful being on the planet. Therefore, Rama-Tut offered to make En Sabah Nur his heir, if he would swear his loyalty. However, when En Sabah Nur refused, the Pharaoh shot him and left him to die. But, once again, En Sabah Nur survived with the sudden emergence of his mutant immortality and mass shifting. With his powers flaring, En Sabah Nur defeated Ozymandias, turning him into his slave, while Rama-Tut escaped back into the future. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the different characters.)

With his powers fully realized, and defeating Pharaoh and his army, En Sabah Nur took Egypt into a new era, in which his children walked among them. His offspring received a portion of his power, those closest related having near identical abilities. He also formed his clan, called Clan Akkaba. Apparently, En Sabah Nur would also use Rama Tut’s technology to "regenerate" himself, becoming more and more powerful every time he awoke. It was also during this time, that Egypt peaked, and so too did the clan’s influence on the world. When Alexander the Great and his Persian armies attacked, En Sabah Nur and his kin fought valiantly in battle. This battle helped En Sabah Nur purge the weak out of his clan. From then on, En Sabah Nur plotted the conquer the entire planet, through bringing about wars and conflict, in which the strong would destroy the weak. Over the centuries, En Sabah Nur was worshiped by many civilizations as a death god. In addition, he founded a group of fanatics devoted to his ideals that the "strong" should inherit the Earth and the "weak" should be purged, known as the Riders of the Storm (Dark Riders). (To learn about the group highlighted above, just click on their names. Also, En Sabah Nur during his time with the Dark Riders is shown in the third picture posted above.)

Centuries later, during the 12th Century, En Sabah Nur was traveling through Mongolia and encountered a Ship abandoned by the Celestials. He entered the Ship and lived on it for many years, not fully understanding how to communicate with it or control it. Using old hieroglyphs, En Sabah Nur built a large Sphinx around the Ship. Soon after, he and his Riders of the Storm were constantly attacked by a young warrior with a sword and shield calling himself the "Traveler" (aka Nathan Summers, Cable). En Sabah Nur and the Traveler fought, and although En Sabah Nur was nearly killed, unknown the the Traveler, Apocalypse’s blood had become infected with the Traveler's techno-organic virus during their battle. The infection allowed Apocalypse to not only transform into an even more powerful being, but to also interface with the Celestial Ship, claiming it as his own. Apocalypse now possessed the ability of total control over the molecular structure of his body. It was after this that he began referring to himself as "Apocalypse."(Click on the highlighted characters and/or race above to learn more about them.)

Later on, during the 15th Century, in Romania, Apocalypse led his Dark Riders against Vlad the Impaler and his army. It was Apocalypse who personally defeated Vlad in combat--an event which would lead to Vlad to become the immortal vampire, Dracula. (Click on the highlighted name above to learn more about Dracula.)

It was later, during the 19th Century, that Apocalypse resurfaced in England, about the same time Darwin was proposing his "survival of the fittest" theories. Apocalypse, searching for underlings, met the scientist Nathaniel Essex whose own desire for scientific knowledge led him to foresee the abundance of mutants that would occur in modern times. Apocalypse quickly earned the allegiance of Essex, turning him into the being now known as "Mister Sinister." Apocalypse had plans to assassinate Britain's Queen and Prime Minister; however, he was stopped by the time-lost mutants, Cyclops and Phoenix. Afterward, Apocalypse also learned that Mister Sinister had betrayed him as well. (Click the highlighted names above to learn more about the characters. Note: Beware of the very form-fitting outfits worn by some on Cyclop and Phoenix's bio pages.)

In the late 19th Century, Dracula--now a immortal vampire warlord--discovered the existence of Clan Akkaba and it's relation to Apocalypse. In a vengeful campaign, Dracula began slaughtering many of the clan, before Abraham van Helsing discovered that he was involved. However, it was soon discovered that Dracula was actually turning members of Clan Akkaba into vampires in order to battle Apocalypse. After meeting van Helsing, Apocalypse joined him, Jack Starsmore, Frederick Slade, and Ozymandias, to combat Dracula and the undead members of Clan Akkaba. Apocalypse and his group were at first overwhelmed by the vampires, but eventually emerged victorious. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn more about them.)

Later on, Apocalypse was awakened from his hibernation when the infant, Nathan Summers, was born. (Summers was Mister Sinister's creation of the genes of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor--Jean Grey's clone. Sinister believed this powerful mutant would defeat Apocalypse and thus free him of his master.) When Apocalypse awoke, he realized that the Earth was beginning to be populated by mutants. Outfitting himself with armor from the Ship, Apocalypse began forming a mutant team known as the Alliance of Evil. He used this team to go up against Cyclops and his X-Factor team. However, the Alliance of Evil was defeated and Apocalypse abandoned them--believing them to be weak. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the character and/or teams. Note: Beware of the very revealing outfit on Pryor's bio page--block images if possible.)

Soon time after, Apocalypse formed the Horsemen of Apocalypse to plague and destroy humanity in order for the rise of mutant supremacy. His first Horsemen were Plauge (as Pestilence), Abraham Kieros (as War), Autumn Rolfson (as Famine), and Angel (as Death). However, over time Apocalypse would transform many recognized heroes and villains into versions of War, Pestilence, Famine, and Death--such as Hulk, DeathbirdCaliban, Gambit, Ahab, and Wolverine. (To learn more about the Horsemen of Apocalypse and many of the team members, click on the highlighted names above. Note: Beware of the very revealing outfit worn by Deathbird on her bio page.)

At some point, Apocalypse contacted members of the Inhumans, on the Blue Area of the Moon, and persuaded them to join his ideological view and form a new team of Riders of the Storm. Realizing that young Nathan Summers was the same "Traveler" that defeated him centuries ago, Apocalypse ordered the Riders of the Storm to kidnap Nathan and take him to his base on the Blue Area of the Moon, where Apocalypse infected the infant with the techno-organic virus--both to start a time paradox that ensured his own creation and recognizing the potential threat and usefulness of the boy's power. However, in the end, Apocalypse was defeated by the X-Factor. (Click the highlighted names above to learn more about the teams and/or characters.)

Later on, Apocalypse had encountered and agreed to lead a faction of the Skrulls, who were investigating their own race's mutations. Apocalypse led these Skrulls and his Horsemen in abducting what he called the "Twelve" (mutants who he could absorb powers from, giving him god-like abilities to re-create the world in Apocalypse's image). The Twelve's energy would be eventually be siphoned into X-Man (Nate Grey) so Apocalypse could possess the boy who was a time-tossed teenager with telepathic and telekinetic power. However, as his teammates fell around him, a powerless Cyclops shoved X-Man out of the draining circuit; thus, merging with Apocalypse. Unable to cope with the influx of power due to Cyclops' involvement, Apocalypse rejected the power, escaping and abandoning his mission, although Cyclops' body was seeming killed in the process. (To learn about the race, group, and/or characters above, just click on their highlighted names. Note: Beware of the extremely revealing outfits worn by Storm on her bio page--block images if possible.)

Much later, after the events of M-Day, Apocalypse saw a need to act as the savior of the mutant race for once rather than just claim it. Therefore, he created a new set of Horsemen with the aid of Ozymandias. He then went to the Xavier Institute, where he offered salvation to the X-Men and the 198 mutants seeking refugee there. Despite recruiting several refugees to his cause, Apocalypse was forced to retreat by the X-Men, Sentinel Squad O*N*E, and the New Avengers. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn more about the event, place, and/or teams. Note: Beware of the revealing outfits worn by some on the M-Day bio page.)

More recently, Apocalypse found himself in front of the Celestials. It was revealed that Apocalypse had never been able to use the Celestials' technology without their notice. Apocalypse sought death as an escape route from repaying his debt, but the Celestials resurrected him in order to spirit him away for their judgement. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the teams and/or event.)

Later, John was recruited into the X-Men, taking on the code-name "Thunderbird." Unfortunately, he died on one of his earliest missions. Just before Thunderbird's funeral in the Western Desert, James took his brother's body and gave him a traditional Apache warrior's funeral rite instead. Blaming Professor X for his brother's death, James accepted an offer from Emma Frost (then the White Queen of the Hellfire Club) to join her team: the Hellions. In his brother's memory, James took his brother's costume and code-name of "Thunderbird." (To learn about the above highlighted characters and/or teams, just click on their names above. Later on, James kidnapped Banshee, to draw the X-Men to Cheyenne Mountain--where his brother had been killed. Everything went to plan; however, when it came to down to it, James couldn't bring himself to kill Professor X. The Professor convinced James that his brother died a hero's death. James realized that the X-Men were not responsible, and he released them. After this, Professor X offered James a place on his team of X-Men protégés known as the New Mutants, but he declined. Instead, James returned to the Hellions and eventually became their leader. However, it wasn't too long until James didn't feel like he fit in with the team, and decided to leave and return home to Camp Verde. Some time later, during a trip to New York, Proudstar was approached by Cable to join his formative strike-force known as the X-Force, but Proudstar declined the offer. After James returned home, he found everyone on his reservation had been slaughtered. The only thing left behind was a Hellfire Club mercenary's mask. Vowing revenge on the Hellfire Club, James went back and accepted Cable's offer and began going by the code-name of "Warpath." Alongside X-Force, Warpath fought the Mutant Liberation Front, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants led by Toad, and many other villains who crossed their paths. It was during this time that Warpath developed his powers to higher and higher levels (he could run up to 100 MPH, and climb walls by digging his fingers into the concrete). In addition to his powers, Warpath also began to develop a crush on his teammate Siryn--he was even instrumental in helping her recover from alcoholism. In was during this time that Warpath eventually came across Emma Frost and confronted her about the death of his people; however, she convinced him that it was not the Hellfire Club that was responsible in killing his tribe. (Click the highlighted names above to learn about the characters and/or team. Also, Warpath in his X-Force uniform is shown in the first picture posted above. Note: Beware of the revealing/form-fitting outfits on the Mutant Liberation Front's bio page above.)

At one point, Warpath was seduced by a young mutant named Risque. After this, Warpath left X-Force and wandered the country with her. Ultimately, however, Risque betrayed Proudstar, drugging him and delivered him to a mutant called Sledge--her mission all along. Sledge, with no malicious intent, told James about a member of his tribe, Michael Whitecloud, who had somehow survived the massacre. In exchange for Whitecloud's location, Sledge requested that Proudstar retrieve Vanisher from an alternate dimension. Warpath did so, and then brought Whitecloud with him to see Siryn. Whitecloud told Warpath more about their tribes massacre and how he escaped, and how to access the files he stole from the Arroyo Institute--which was the reason for the destruction of Camp Verde. James retrieved the documents; however, he was ambushed and captured by Dr. Martynec. Martynec revealed that he had been working for "Stryfe" (time-traveling clone of Cable) to create mutated soldiers and experiment on the people at Camp Verde. However, after the escape of one of his doctors and one of his creations, they massacred the tribe to cover it all up. Eventually, Siryn and Warpath were able to break free; however, Dr. Martynec injected James with a drug and killed him. (Click the highlighted character names above to learn more about them. Note: Beware of the revealing outfit on Risque's bio page above.)

While in Hell--realm of the demon Mephisto--Warpath was confronted by Stryfe, who wanted to force him into despair, which would allow Stryfe to be resurrected by Blackheart. Fortunately, Proudstar was able to connect with Siryn, who was doing CPR on him. In addition, Valkyrie (Brunnhilde) brought the rest of X-Force to the Hell dimension to fight for James' soul, which they won, returning Warpath to life. (Click the highlighted character names above to learn more about them.)

Later on, with X-Force, Proudstar began learning how to enchance his abilities even more with the help of Peter Wisdom. He even learned how to fly. At one point, the X-Force survived being in the center of a Vibranium bomb explosion; however, the team decided to let the world believe they were dead, and to use this status to secretly infiltrate and destroy anti-mutant organizations around the world. (To learn about the character and/or item above, just click on their highlighted names. Also, Proudstar after Wisdom's training is shown in the fourth picture posted above.)

Eventually, Warpath and the X-Force reappeared and confronted a team at a press conference when the new team was calling themselves "X-Force" (later they were called X-Statix). (To lean about X-Statix, click on the highlighted name above.)

Soon afterward, Proudstar was recruited into the X-Corporation in Mumbai, India. When Professor X came to visit, James saved his life from assassination by the deranged Lilandra. Here, James worked with former teammates Feral, Thornn, and Sunfire. (Click on the highlighted team and/or character names above to learn more about them. Note: Beware of the revealing/form-fitting outfits worn by some on Lilandra, Feral, and Thornn's bio pages.)

After the events of M-Day, which stripped most mutants of their powers, Proudstar relocated to the "198" mutant encampment on the grounds of the Xavier Mansion--he being one who retained his powers. While living at the X-Mansion, James rekindled his friendship with former teammate Caliban who was also staying there. In addition, he was given Vibranium Knives as a gift from Storm and the Black Panther. (To learn more about the event, team, place, and/or characters above, just click on their highlighted names. Note: Beware of revealing/form-fitting outfits on the M-Day and Caliban bio pages. And beware of the extremely revealing outfit on Storm's bio page--block images if possible).

Shortly afterwards, for the first time, Warpath joined the ranks of the X-Men. Along with Professor X, Marvel Girl, Nightcrawler, Havok, Darwin, and Polaris, he journeyed into space to track down Vulcan. Through battles, the team was eventually able to stop Vulcan from destroying the Shi'ar. (Click the highlighted character and/or race names above to learn more about them.)

Back on Earth, Warpath joined a new X-Force team formed by Wolverine (designed to personally do the extreme tasks the X-Men would normally not be associated with). At one point, Caliban sacrificed his life to save James' by jumping in the path of a range of bullets from a Reaver. James buried Caliban at the Apache reservation, alongside his brother. (To learn more about the character and/or team above, just click on their highlighted names. Also, Warparth during his time with Wolverine's X-Force is shown in the fifth picture posted above.)

Later on, with the help of Ghost Rider, Warpath learned about how Eli Bard had resurrected his brother, Caliban, and his tribe for a sacrifice to Selene. Therefore, James and the X-Force went to Necrosha (formerly Genosha), where Selene had brought her reanimated army. It was on Necrosha, that Warpath ended up confronting his brother in battle, where he gave his brother a mercy killing. Soon, with the help of an ancient ritual, the team was able to kill Selene with her own dagger, which freed the souls from her reanimated army. (To learn about the highlighted characters and/or places above, just click on their names.)

More recently, Warpath has left the X-Force and has been seen on Utopia. (Click on the highlighted place above to learn more about it.)
