Powers
The Mandarin possesses superhuman physical prowess. The Mandarin can survive for years without food and water by living on stored Chi. When in possession of his 10 Makluan rings, each grants the Mandarin a different ability/power: “ice blast” (left little finger), to emit waves of cold; “mento-intensifier” (left ring finger), to place people under mental control; “electro-blast” (left middle finger), to emit electricity of various intensities; “flame blast” (left index finger), to project heat and trigger chemical explosions; “white light” (left thumb), to emit various forms of electromagnetic energy; “black light” (right little finger), to create absolute blackness, possibly a form of Darkforce; “disintegration beam” (right ring finger), to break down a target’s molecular bonds; “vortex beam” (right middle finger), to manipulate air for levitation or concussive force; “impact beam” (right index finger), to project explosive, sonic, or magnetic force; and “matter rearranger” (right thumb), to alter a substance’s molecular structure into gas, liquid, or solid form. He has used a wide variety of robots, weaponry, and vehicles.**

Abilities

A remarkable genius with both earthly and extraterrestrial technology, the Mandarin is also an exceptional athlete, swordsman, and martial artist. He is extremely knowledgeable on ancient history, specifically that of Asia and China.

Other Info
Born around 1920, the boy who would become the Mandarin was the son of one of the wealthiest men in pre-revolutionary mainland China (who claimed to be a direct descendant of Genghis Khan) and an English noblewoman. However, both parents died soon after their son's birth, and the boy was raised by his aunt, who was embittered against the West. Every bit of the wealth he inherited from his parents was spent teaching him science and martial arts. Therefore, once he was an adult, the Mandarin and his aunt were considered broke.

Hoping to find a means of avenging himself upon the civilization that had taxed him and rendered him homeless, the Mandarin explored the dreaded Valley of Spirits, which no one had set foot in for centuries. There, he found the millennia-old wreckage of a starship of the reptilian alien race known as the Makluan. It was here that Mandarin discovered ten rings which powered the vessel.  (To learn about the Makluan, just click on their highlighted name above.)

Unaware that the Makluans themselves remained at large, posing as humans, the Mandarin spent many years mastering Makluan technology. After some time, he began conquering the valley’s surrounding areas establishing a network both of citadels and of loyal followers. The Mandarin's ultimate goal was to conquer China, and then the world, which he claimed he would rule with the “wisdom and harmony” of his nobleman ancestors. It was during these years that the Mandarin fathered a son, Temujin (whom he sent to a remote monastery), took a girl as a student (aka future Madam Macabre), and became betrothed to another girl named Mei-Ling whom he would marry when she became an adult. In addition, he also discovered the alien robot Ultimo within a volcano, and worked for years to revive him using a combination of science and magic. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn more about the race and/or characters.)

Years later, seeking assistance to master the Makluan rings’ full power, the Mandarin sponsered a local warlord named Wong Chu. It was Chu who abducted the Chinese genius Ho Yinsen and American industrialist Tony Stark. However, at one point, Yinsen sacrificed his life to enable Stark to escape and overwhelm Wong Chu’s forces using his first Iron Man armor. (To learn about the characters above, just click on the highlighted names.)

Months later, Iron Man visited China to investigate the Mandarin for the U.S. government. Using the rings and his own combat skills, the Mandarin nearly defeated Iron Man; however, Iron Man escaped. A couple more times the Mandarin tried at world domination, but was stopped by Iron Man on every attempt.

At one point, the Mandarin was among the many costumed super-villains who were affected by Doctor Doom’s Emotion Charger and were assembled to disrupt the wedding of Reed Richards and Susan Storm. (To learn about the above highlighted characters and/or item, click on their names above.)

Later, Mandarin abducted the Swordman and convinced him to serve as a spy with in the Avengers. To do so, the Mandarin equipped the Swordman's weapon with Mukluan technological (the sword's hilt had various buttons which granted the Swordman with some degree of elemental control). However, the Swordsman eventually balked at destroying the Avengers and betrayed the Mandarin. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the character and/or team.)

Much later, after finally reactivating Ultimo, the Mandarin teleported Iron Man to his citadel so that he could finally defeat him. However, Iron Man as able to lure Ultimo back into the volcano from which he came. Mandarin was again stopped by Iron Man when he tried to provoke world war with a missile attack. After this, the Mandarin then teamed with Enchantress and Executioner to build a world wide hate-ray; however, they were stopped by the Avengers. He then turned his attention to the Hulk. He mentally controlled the Hulk and used him to wreak havoc on cities, thinking each nation would blame the other his attacks, but his control was disrupted by Nick Fury and Yuri Brevlov of S.H.I.E.L.D. A second attempt to control the Hulk with the help of the Sandman also failed. Later, the Mandarin, accompanied by the adult Mei-Ling, used a Hulk robot to abduct Stark’s lover Janice Cord while framing Stark himself for enemy conspiracy, but Mei-Ling, touched by Cord’s love for Stark and disillusioned by the Mandarin’s cruelty, sacrificed her life helping Iron Man defeat him. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the different characters and/or team above.)

Hoping to enhance his rings’ already phenomenal power, the Mandarin manipulated the Royal Family of Inhumans into obtaining the mystic Eye of Yin, created centuries ago by Makluan-trained sorcerers. However, he was overpowered by Black Bolt, who escaped with his rings. (To learn about the Inhumans and/or Black Bolt, click on their names above.)

Afterward, the Mandarin allied himself with the former Russian super-operative Unicorn. And with his help, the Mandarin was able to regain the rings with a Makluan headband device and returned his attention to Tony Stark. In the identity of Gene Kahn, he stirred unrest among Stark’s employees, then, when exposed, fought Iron Man alongside the Unicorn. However, careless use of the headband inadvertently switched the Mandarin’s consciousness with that of the terminally-ill Unicorn, and he quickly abandoned the fight. Adding insult to injury, when the Mandarin returned to his citadel, he discovered that it had been taken over by a rival mastermind in his absence, Yellow Claw. After this, the Mandarin retired to an underwater base. During this time, he captured Sunfire and forced him to power the machinery that restored him to his rightful body, but even with Ultimo’s aid, regaining his castle was not so simple. Iron Man and Sunfire intervened in the conflict, which ended with the Mandarin seemingly slain by the Yellow Claw’s robot, who then took the Makluan rings of power from him. (To learn about the highlighted characters above, just click on their names.)

The Mandarin was able to survive his death because of his newfound mastery of chi and ability to control his consciousness. He was able to transfer his intelligence into the rings themselves. He then transformed one of Yellow Claw's henchman into a younger version of himself and took over the man's body. Despite his new body, his customary schemes to cause world war were once again thwarted by Iron Man. Efforts to obtain Wakanda’s Vibranium proved unsuccessful as well. He even attempted to destroy China’s rice crops, intended to drive the Chinese government into invading other nations; however, this was disrupted by Iron Man again (actually War Machine--Tony's temporary replacement at the time). (Click on the names above to learn about the highlighted country, item, and/or characters.)

Later, the Mandarin was thrown into a coma while experimenting with his rings when Chen Hsu (the captain of the Makluans in disguise) stole one of the rings and replaced it with a fake one. Mandarin's body recovered, but because his consciousness was tied to the rings, his memory was lost.

Afterwards, the Mandarin became a criminal overlord named Zhang Tong in Hong Kong. As Tong, the Mandarin allowed ten underlings to use his rings as his operatives in the so-called "Hand." However, he was again stopped by Iron Man. Soon afterward, the Mandarin joined several other masterminds in the so-called “Acts of Vengeance” anti-superhero conspiracy, then allied with Matsuo Tsurayaba of the ninja Hand. But, these endeavors were disrupted by the Avengers and the X-Men. (To learn about the teams and/or character above, just click on their highlighted names.)

Over time, the Mandarin recognized Chen Hsu’s theft; therefore, he confronted the old man, who then returned both the Mandarin's ring and his memory. In addition, he guided Mandarin in commanding the gigantic Makluan dragon, Fin Fang Foom. With the dragon under his command, the Mandarin easily conquered more than a third of his native land China. Iron Man and War Machine came to stop him; however, they ended up teaming up with him when Mandarin discovered that the Makluans wanted to take over Earth for themselves. The Mandarin ended up giving power to Iron Man through his rings and seemingly destoryed the Makluans. Unfortunately, this resulted in the Mandarin's hands being burned off in the process. However, through magic, the Mandarin was able to recover from his injury and grow back new reptilian-like hands. (To learn about Fin Fang Foom, click on his highlighted name above. Also, Mandarin with his reptilian hands is shown in the fifth picture posted above.)

Afterward, Mandarin went around and recovered his rings. It was then that he discovered the "Heart of Darkness" (a centuries-old orb of cosmic evil). The Mandarin, and his Avatars (super-powerd Chinese nationals), used this orb to mystically revert China to its medieval state. Eventually, Iron Man and War Machine showed up with Iron Man's Force Works and were able to break the Mandarin's power, but not before the Mandarin discovered that Tony Stark was the man inside the Iron Man armor. However, Iron Man penetrated the Mandarin’s defenses and infected him with a techno-organic virus, nullifying his Heart of Darkness's mystic bond and again rendering him amnesiac. (To learn about the highlighted team above, just click on their name. Note: Beware of the revealing outfit worn by one on the Force Works' bio page.)

Much later, Mandarin's memories returned and he set into motion plans to create a giant flying fortress called the "Dragon of Heaven" through which he planned to conquer Russia and eventually the world. When he began to invade Russia using a mercenary army, the Avengers and the Winter Guard showed up to resist them. However, the attack on Russia was just a way to lure Iron Man into action and better test him in battle. Iron Man indeed remained a worthy adversary and destroyed the Dragon of Heaven’s power source, toppling it from the sky. The Mandarin was seemingly slain in the crash. (To learn about the highlighted team above, just click on their name.)

Later, the Mandarin reappeared now with his rings assimilated into his body--burned directly into his spine. He now went by the alias "Tem Borjigin," the CEO of the Prometheus Corporation (a corporation specializing in bio-engineered weaponry). As part of his manipulations, the Mandarin provided terrorist groups with bio-weapons. Maya Hansen's death was faked so she could work on Extremis projects for him. The Mandarin planned to unleash the Extremis virus in aerosol form on the general public, which would kill most of the world's population except for a select few (about 3% of the human population) who have the genetic potential to withstand the Extremis effect. The Mandarin admitted to Hansen that even he would die in the outbreak; however, that she and those with the genetic aptitude to survive would become free from disease, and effectively immortal. In this way, the Mandarin believed he would rid the world of its evils, allowing civilization to begin renewed. Despite the Mandarin releasing the Extremis virus into the air, Iron Man was able to stop it from spreading. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the characters and/or item.)

More recently, it was revealed that the Mandarin was Sasha Hammer's father (daughter of Justine Hammer and granddaughter of Justin Hammer). The Mandarin freed Sashsa's boyfriend, Ezekiel Stane (son of Obadiah Stane) from prison so they could all could work together to destroy Tony Stark. Powers
Due to his cybernetic enhancements, Coldblood possesses a variety of superhuman attributes: superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes. Coldblood's skin, musculature, and bones are a hybrid material composed of extremely hard plastics and high grade steel. As a result, his body is much harder and more resistant to physical injury than the body of a normal human. He can withstand high caliber bullets, powerful impact forces, exposure to extreme temperatures, falls from great heights, and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury. In addition, the computer system grafted to Coldblood's brain allows him to interface with almost any computer system for the purposes of communicating with other computer systems across the world. He can also use this ability to download the information stored in almost any computer system. Coldblood also can fire a destructive beam from his left wrist.

Abilities
Coldblood is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant and has received extensive training in both armed and unarmed combat during his time in the military. With the use of his interface technology, he has been able to download information, such as more knowledge of hand-to-hand combat and the usage of advanced weaponry.

Other Info
Not much is known about Lieutenant-Colonel Eric Savin’s before his time in the military. At one point, he was put in charge of security of the U.S. Army’s Project: Ultra-Tech. Soon after he had taken the job, he was approached by Lieutenant Gina Dyson who revealed to him that the project was just a front for a massive misappropriation of government funds and that there is no Project: Ultra-Tech. She also revealed that the project leader, Mako, worked for three multinational corporations and that they even built a fake city in the desert to play their private war games by testing their own built super-soldiers.  (To learn about the characters above, just click on their highlighted names.)

After this, Savin started to investigate these claims by braking into Mako’s office; however, he was captured and transported to the fake city. Once inside the fake city, Savin accidently ran over a mine that exploded killing him. Luckily, his body was quickly retrieved and reanimated by Gina. She performed cybernetic surgery on him. The operation was successful. Gina had removed his memory center, replaced his damaged right eye with a mechanical implant, and replaced his severed limbs with the state of the art artificial ones. After she was done, they put him in his attack car and remote controlled it back to the fake city. Savin was now a cyborg referred to as "Coldblood-7."

When Coldblood woke up he didn’t have any knowledge of who or where he was. A computer soon told him that he was in New York and that he was cyborg "Coldblood-7." In addition, the computer told him that he was under attack. When this happened, a tank actually attacked them; however, Coldblood managed to destroy it with the weapons on his car. Soon after this, he was met by more resistance from some mechanical beings and some living people. Gina Dyson contacted him by buried frequency and then guided him to the main building. When Coldblood got to her she gave him all facts of his former self by uploading them in his computer. She also removed all access from him so Mako couldn’t destroy him. Afterward, she then told him to escape from the city. Coldblood managed to get away and headed towards Las Vegas.

Once Coldblood arrived in Las Vegas, he was attacked by Mako’s robots on a couple occasions. Unfortunately, Mako captured Gina and blackmailed Coldblood to come back to the fake city. Even with the computer insisting that he doesn't go, Coldblood returned to the city.

Upon arrival, he was comforted by several more of Mako’s robots which Mako used to play with Coldblood's head. In addition, Coldblood's computer was hacked into by Mako, and now Mako could make Coldblood see things that weren't really there. Meanwhile, Gina managed to escape. Soon, Coldblood ran into Gina and almost shot her thinking that she was one of Mako’s robots. Even though the computer told him that she was a robot (Mako was making him belief that), Coldblood resisted and trusted himself and freed Gina. After this, Coldblood and Gina fought through several of Mako’s robots and finally got in the main building. Once inside, Coldblood destroyed a junction box which resulted in all the robots being shutdown. As Mako noticed this, he ordered his human mercenary troops to attack Coldblood. Coldblood managed to survive when Gina blew up all of Mako’s booby traps he had set in the city. Soon after, Mako himself appeared in an exoskeleton called Weapon Walker and confronted Coldblood himself. Coldblood was severely wound in the battle, but Coldblood was able to call his car and use its weapons to destroy Weapon Walker. Afteward, Coldblood left with Gina who repaired his body to 100% efficient operation.

Afterward, Coldblood became an urban soldier cyborg, operating as a freelance mercenary. As a mercenary, he was hired by Roxxon Oil to hunt down another cyborg--Deathlok. For this mission, he traveled to Paris where Deathlok was trying to retrieve his real body with the help of the Wild Pack and Siege. Coldblood managed to surprise Deathlok, but eventually lost the fight. However, Deathlok then showed him that what he had been told was a lie and Coldblood decided to help Deathlok to get his body back instead. After they managed to get to his body, they realized it was wired with explosives. Coldblood helped him in defusing the bomb, but they didn’t succeed and it exploded. After this, an enraged Deathlok then went after Harlan Ryker, and Coldblood followed. Eventually, they found him in Kuwait destroying some oilfield and attacked them. Soon after, Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived and together they managed to capture Harlan Ryker. Afterward, Deathlook gave Coldblood a ride back to America and then parted ways. (To learn about the characters and/or teams above, just click on their highlighted names. Note: Beware of the revealing and/or form-fitting outfits worn by some on Meggan, Wild Pack, and Nick Fury's bio pages.)

During the superhero Civil War, Coldblood opposed the Superhero Registration Act and was eventually arrested. He was transported to Negative Zone prison for unregistered superheroes. Later on, he, along with many others, were eventually freed from the prison and was seen fighting behind Captain America and his Anti-Registration heroes in the final battle against Iron Man's Pro-Registration heroes. (To learn about the events, place, and/or character above, just click on their highlighted names.)

After the battle, Coldblood was reported as being MIA (Missing In Action), and his current whereabouts are unknown.

Abilities
A brilliant biologist, Maya can process vast amounts of information at genius speeds.

Other Info
Dr. Maya Hansen was one of the most respected and well known bio-technologists in her field. She developed her notoriety through her work at reprogramming the repair center at the center of the brain. It was during a conference that she first befriended a young Tony Stark. (To learn about Iron Man, click on the highlighted name above.)

Year later, Maya began working for the FuturePharm Corporation in Austin, Texas alongside Dr. Aldrich Killian. Their breakthrough research afforded her the ability to work on the development of the next Super-Soldier formula (which a generation ago had created Captain America). Their approach was to exploit the genetic potential of man through nano-technology. This eventually resulted in the development of Extremis (a techno organic virus that completely rewrites the body’s genetic code. It replaces entire organs making them more efficient. The virus also gives the body a sort of healing factor and even super powers). (To learn about the characters and/or virus above, just click on their highlighted names.)

At one point, Dr. Hansen learned that she was going to lose funding; therefore, Maya came up with the idea that if she could get a test subject to fight and conquer Iron Man, she would be able to prove its potential. So, she stole Extremis and put it into the hands of domestic terrorists named Mallen who injected the serum into himself. This lead to Mallen going on a killing spree of FBI agents. Next, Maya contacted Tony Stark to confront Mallen. During their initial fight, Iron Man is severely beaten. After this, Iron Man convinced Maya to inject him with Extremis so he could stop Mallen be becoming Extremis-enhanced himself. In the next battle, Iron Man was victorious. However, Iron Man realized that Maya was actually the one behind the release of Extermis to Mallen. For this, Maya was sent to prison. (To learn about Mallen, click on his highlighted name above.)

Once in prison, Maya was met by a relative of one of Mallen's victims and slices her left cheek leaving a nasty scar. Soon, Maya is broken out of prison by Iron Man due to his brain being controlled to assassinate specific targets. Through her loyal work, Tony Stark used his position as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. to commute Maya's sentence and have her placed under his custody. While working for Tony, Dr. Hansen was prohibited from pursuing any further research into Extremis, due to Tony's belief that is was far too dangerous. Soon after, Maya and Tony quickly became romantically involved. (Click on the highlighted name above to learn more about S.H.I.E.L.D. Also, you can see the scar given to Maya in the fifth and sixth pictures posted above.)

Later on, an incident occurred where Maya and Tony's close friend Sal Kennedy was killed by a biological threat that could have been stopped had Maya been allowed to continue her research on Extremis. After this, because she wasn't allowed to perform her research as a ward of S.H.I.E.L.D., Maya faked her own death and accepted an offer to work for a secret government organization called "Prometheus Genetech." (To learn about Sal Kennedy, click on the highlighted name above.)

Unknown to Maya, the Prometheus project was actually backed and run by the Mandarin in disguise. His plan was to wipe out the majority of the human race using an airborne version of Extremis which Maya was working on. However, before this could happen, Iron Man stopped the Mandarin and the Extermis virus from spreading, in addition to rescuing Maya. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the Mandarin.)

More recently, Maya was kidnapped by A.I.M. who forced her to recreate the Extremis virus in order to create their own super humans. Soon after, when Maya tried to escape, she was killed by one of A.I.M.'s now super-powered agents. However, Maya had created a fail-safe if something like this were to happen. A prerecorded message she made was sent to Tony Stark to warn him that the Extremis virus was on the loose again. (To learn about A.I.M., click on the highlighted name above.)

The Morlocks are a large community of mutants founded by the mutant Callisto who discovered "The Alley" (a tunnel that runs the length of Manhattan, and is the center of a network of tunnels built in the 1950's by the U.S.government in case of a nuclear war). It is part of a tunnel system which extends into New Jersey, Connecticut, and New York. The vast majority of the public has no idea these tunnels exist. Callisto first found the mutant Caliban who had the power to psionically locate other mutants. The two, together, located and gathered together many other mutants who had run away from human society because of their abnormal external physical changes due to their mutations. The first ones they found were Sunder and Masque. Callisto decided to call the team "Morlocks" after the subterranean creatures found in H. G. Wells's book, The Time Machine. (To learn about the characters above, just click on their highlighted names. Note: Beware of the very revealing outfit worn by Callisto on her bio page.)

At one point, the Morlocks kidnapped Angel (intending to make him Callisto's mate). However, the X-Men realized they could not rescue Angel without ruling over the numerous Morlocks. So, Storm challenged Callisto to a duel--the prize was leadership of the Morlocks. To the Morlock's surprise, Storm defeated Callisto in hand-to-hand combat. Therefore, Storm rescued Angel and became the de facto leader of the Morlocks. However, Storm did not stay underground with the Morlocks, so Callisto remained as the unofficial leader to make sure that law and order was upheld in Storm's absence. (To learn about the characters and/or team above, just click on their highlighted names. Note: Beware of the extremely reveling outfit worn by Storm on her bio page--block images if possible.)

With Storm as the official leader of the Morlocks, an alliance between the Morlocks and the X-Men resulted. Therefore, Professor Xavier offered to help resettle the Morlocks on the surface; however, they declined because they felt the tunnels were the right place for them. (Click on the highlighted name above to learn about Professor X.)

One day, the unthinkable happened, a group of mercenaries named the Marauders who had been hired by Mister Sinister and led by Gambit broke into the Morlock's tunnels and began to exterminate them. (It was later revealed that many of the Morlocks were actually failed experiments of the Dark Beast, which is why Mister Sinister wanted to destroy them, seeing his handiwork in them.) As this Mutant Massacre continued, many superheroes showed up to protect the Morlocks including the X-Men, X-Factor, Power Pack, and Thor. When Gambit realized he had been misled about the mission, he too help defend and save the Morlocks. However, even with all their help, most of the Morlocks were killed. But, luckily, some were able to escape. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the teams, characters, and/or events. Note: Beware of the form-fitting outfit worn by one the Marauders' bio page.)

After the Massacre, the remaining Morlocks split off into different groups and places. Some returned to the the Alley to be led by Masque. Later, some were transported by Mikhail Rasputin to another dimension dubbed "The Hill." Once there, Rasputin set up what he called the "Gene Nation," who attacked humans on Earth to "get even" with what happened to them during the Mutant Massacre. One such Morlock was Marrow. Eventually, that was stopped when Storm confronted Marrow in battle. Other survivors of the Mutant Massacre became wards of Generation X like Leech and Artie. (To learn about the above highlighted characters and/or team, just click on their names.)

Later, when the events of M-Day occurred, most of the Morlocks lost their powers. During an interview, Marrow reported that the de-powered Morlocks now look like humans; however, they are still afraid about going out of the tunnels. Some of the Morlocks who retained their powers, sought refugee at the Xavier Institute and became part of the 198. But, the few that remained in the tunnel were under Marrow's protection. (Click the highlighted names above to learn about the event, team, and/or place. Note: Beware of the revealing outfits worn by some on the M-Day's bio page.)

Later on, some Morlocks reappeared under the leadership of Masque. They were determined to find Magneto. Using diaries that he believed told the future, Masque plagued humans and fought the X-Men. However, he was defeated with the help of Masque's own teammate Skids (who was secretly working for S.H.I.E.L.D.). (To learn about the characters and/or team highlighted above, just click on their names.)

More recently, another small group of Morlocks were discovered living in the sewers of Chicago, trying to escape the mutant-hunting Sentinels. (To learn about the Sentinels, click on their highlighted name above.)

To learn a little bit more about the Morlocks, click on the following link, http://marvel.com/universe/Morlocks.

In the film X2, "Morlocks" appear as a folder on William Stryker's computer files. (The team's name is shown in the second picture posted above.)

In the film X-Men: The Last Stand, a team of mutants dubbed "The Omegas" appear in the film. This team is kind of mix of the Morlocks and the Omega Gang. Two members of the movie's team are Callisto and Kid Omega/Quill. In the comics, Callisto is the Morlocks leader, and Kid Omega is the leader of the Omega Gang.

Danielle was de-powered during M-Day. Formerly, She could generate astral images in the form of an individual's greatest fear or desire. She also possessed an animal telepathy. Dani could also generate astral energy and construct it into various shapes--most commonly as an arrow, which, upon contact with another could cause psychic backlash that would leave them incapacitated. As a Valkyrie, Dani could also perceive a manifestation of a person's impending death, and fight it off if she chose. For a time, she could also tap into the Quantum energy that binds reality together, and use it to project bursts of force, disintegrate matter, and levitate.

Abilities
Moonstar is a better than average athlete for her age, in large part because of all the times she has spent on her own in the wilderness. She is an  excellent hand-to-hand combatant, has enhanced durability, and is a particularly good horseback rider and swimmer. In addition, she is experienced in the use of such weapons as a bow, spear, and sword which she carried as a Valkyrie. She is also a good marksman with a rifle.

Other Info
Danielle Moonstar was born in Colorado to members of the Cheyenne Nation. She led a normal life until the age of ten, when her mutant powers began to manifest in the form of nightmares. One nightmare showed a huge bear standing over the bodies of a horse and an eagle--representing her mother (from the horse clan) and her father (from the eagle clan). Shortly thereafter, both of her parents took a trip into the mountains and they disappeared, presumed to have died. After this, Dani's grandfather, Black Eagle, took her in and she enjoyed several years of relative peace with him.

However, as Dani's powers continued to grow, Black Eagle realized there was little he could do to help his granddaughter. Therefore, he contacted a friend, Charles Xavier, and requested that he help Dani to control her powers. Upset with her grandfather, Dani manifested an image of his greatest fear--his own death. This actually proved to be true as Donald Pierce's henchmen from the Hellfire Club killed him in search of young mutants. Dani ended up joining with several of Pierce's other victims who, under Charles Xavier's guidance, were able to defeat him. After Pierce was defeated, Dani stayed with Xavier to honor her grandfather's wishes. She, along with Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Karma, and Cannonball, formed the New Mutants. At first she took the codename "Psyche," but soon became better known as "Mirage." (Click the highlighted names above to learn more about the characters and/or teams.

Later on, the New Mutants were kidnapped by Amora the Enchantress of Asgard. When Magik (Illyana Rasputin) attempted to teleport them all away, the New Mutants found themselves scattered throughout Asgard. Mirage found herself in a grassy plain of Valhalla. It was here, that Mirage found a fully white, winged horse that had been trapped by hunters and began to attempt to free it. While trying to set the winged horse free, an army began to charge at her. Unwilling to leave the horse helpless and not willing to run, Mirage chose to fight back, which led her to using her telepathic abilities to draw forth the image that the oncoming warriors feared most--Hela, Asgardian Goddess of Death. The enemies froze in fear and left immediately, without a backwards glance. After this, Mirage forged an immediate psychic rapport with the horse, whom she named "Brightwind" after her pony on Earth, and the horse selected her to be his rider. This "bonding" bestowed part of the Odin power upon Mirage, and thus she became endowed with the Valkyries' power to perceive the coming of death and became a "Valkyrior."  (Click on the highlighted names above to learn more about the characters, places, and/or team. Note: Beware of the revealing/form-fitting outfits on Amora and Hela's bio pages. Also, Dani as a Valkyrior can be seen in the 3rd picture posted above.)

Soon afterward, the New Mutants returned to Earth, and Brightwind came with Mirage. Now, as a Valkyrior, Mirage could see Death's mark on people. On a couple of occasions, Mirage even attempted to fight Death to save the lives of those around her, though she was not always successful and learned that Death was a natural process of life not always to be feared. (To learn about Death, click on the highlighted name above.)

Some time later, when the New Mutants were attacked by Freedom Force, Dr. Strange teleported the remaining New Mutants to Asgard. Once there, Mirage fell under the sway of Hela and nearly killed Odin. However, with the combined forces of the New Mutants and the Asgardians, Hela was defeated. Afterward, the New Mutants were returned to Earth, except Mirage who chose to stay behind, hoping to repair the damage as a Valkyrie. Eventually, Mirage returned to Earth. Unbeknownst to any of her friends she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and was asked to infiltrate the Mutant Liberation Front (MLF) as a deep cover operative and betray the group from within. In the MLF, this is where Dani took on the code name "Moonstar." To maintain her cover, Moonstar was forced to battle her old friends (who were now in X-Force), and she secretly became an informant for Cable. To do this, Moonstar was forced to take on a harder, darker persona, almost changing herself completely, including her mutant powers. She was now able to refine her psychic abilities to the point were she could focus he mental energies to create "Psychic Arrows." Not only did Moonstar take on a darker appearance in mind and body, but it also changed Brightwind. No longer bright at all, her pegasus was not white, but completely black and now was call "Darkwind." After the MLF and X-Force battled Sentinels during Operation Zero Tolerance, Moonstar left the MLF and reunited with her friends as part of the X-Force. (To learn about the different teams, character, and event, click on the highlighted names above. Note: Beware of the very skin-tight/revealing outfits on some on the MLF's bio page. Also, Dani as the darker Moonstar with a physic arrow is shown in the forth picture posted above.)

Later on, Moonstar was transmorphed for a short time by Arcadia, giving her the ability to channel quantum energies, which allowed her to affect matter at a subatomic level. Dani could see these quantum energies as interconnected particles and waves, and she could affect those connections, changing the physical nature of all things, including an electromagnetic field such as the one generated by Magneto during X-Force's encounter with him in Genosha. However, when Moonstar and Arcadia meet up again in San Francisco, Dani's powers were removed from her and a dimensional rift was formed, also causing four alternate Moonstar's to be created: each of these Moonstar's represented a different aspect of Dani--New Mutant, Valkyrie, MLF member, and quantum-powered. Luckily, with the help of the quantum-powered incarnation, Moonstar was able to stop Arcadiam seal the rift, and was returned to normal. (Click the highlighted names above to learn more about Magneto and/or Genosha.)

Later, X-Force decided to get the British black op Pete Wisdom to train them and improve their effectiveness. However, Moonstar, like Domino, did not agree with his methods and quit the team. Six months later, Moonstar joined the X-Men part-time while she attended college and functioned as a part of the X-Men's support team along with Forge. (To learn about the characters and/or team, just click on their highlighted names above.)

After the reopening of the Xavier Institute, Professor X suggested Moonstar become a teacher there. At first she was unwilling and recruited adolescent mutants instead. However, she eventually decided to become an adviser and taught her new recruits who would eventually be called the New Mutants Squad. In addition, Moonstar signed legal papers to become Elixir (Josh Foley)'s legal guardian after his family abandoned him.  (Click on the highlighted names to learn about the place and/or character.)

After the events of M-Day, Moonstar lost her powers and was sent home along with all the other de-powered students and faculty. Dani took the loss of her powers pretty hard, but she did participate in an interview with reporter Sally Floyd, who was writing down the stories of the de-powered mutants. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the event and/or character. Note: Beware of the revealing outfits worn by some on the M-Day's bio page.)

Later on, Cyclops allowed Cannonball to reorganize the original New Mutants squad. Then during Norman Osborn's attack on the X-Men in San Francisco, Moonstar was sent by Cyclops to Las Vegas to make a deal with Hela to gain back her Valkyrie powers. At Hela's price, Moonstar does get her Valkyrie powers back and takes down Ares and the Dark Avengers. (Click on the highlighted names to learn more about the characters, and/or team. Note: Beware of the revealing outfits by some on the Dark Avengers and Cyclops' bio pages.)

Some time later, the New Mutants battled the "Inferno Babies." During the battle, Moonstar's arm was broken by Loca, and was later tortured by Timothy (both one of the 13 Inferno Babies.) Eventually, Dani was able to get free and she took down Loca with a bow and arrow using her foot in place of her broken arm. After this, the group re-unites and is able to defeat the Inferno Babies. (To learn about the Inferno event, click on the highlighted name above.)

More recently, Moonstar has started a relationship with Cannonball. In addition, Cyclops has asked her to lead to the New Mutants. He tells her the team will now handle loose ends, to deal with unfinished business. And that their first mission is to find and bring Nate Grey (X-Man) home. (To learn about X-Man, click on his name above. Also, Moonstar in her modern outfit is shown in the fifth picture posted above.)
