Georgi Luchkov was a loyal KGB informer in the Soviet Union. However, he turned on many of his fellow agents. Among those were Katya Kosinsky's husband, Chaim Penchansky, Alexi Bibikov's son-in-law and Zina Proshkov. (To learn about the KGB, click on the highlighted name above.)

After the fall on the Soviet Union he was afraid that the relatives of the people he turned in the past would now come after him. So, Georgi left his country and went to the United States. It was here that he began to actually hunt down those relatives instead and kill them himself. However, he stayed undercover as a snack salesman.

One of Georgi's victims was Katya Kosinsky. At this time, the police and the Black Widow were after Luchkov, but they had no clue that he was the actual murderer. At one point, Georgi was visited by the Black Widow and Maria Komarovshky. But, he upset the Black Widow when he kept offering her tea and a hot dog that he didn't have. Then two days later she visited him again. However, this time, the police arrived and Georgi tried to run away armed with a knife. While running, Luchkov even ended up throwing a baby down to the beach to distract the Black Widow. But, the Black Widow still got him and Georgi was arrested for the murders he had committed. In the comics, Luchkov is a former Russian KGB agent and is an enemy of the Black Widow, this is reflected in the movie, Marvel's The Avengers.

Daredevil Reboot Poll

It has been rumored that a Daredevil movie reboot is in the works by 20th Century Fox (who currently holds the rights to the character). However, it was announced that if a sequel, or reboot, had not started filming by October 10, 2012, the rights to the Daredevil franchise would revert back to Marvel. Marvel also was reported to have stated that if the rights returned to them, they would be interested in doing a Daredevil reboot.

Nicholas "Nick" Manolis was a decorated and competent New York City Police detective and a confidant of Daredevil (Matt Murdock).  (To learn more about Daredevil, click on his highlighted name above.)

One day, Nick Manolis' son became gravely ill and Nick was confronted with huge medical bills. Unable to afford the medical treatment to save his son's life, the desperate Manolis allied himself with the criminal "Kingpin" Wilson Fisk. Under the Kingpin's orders, Nick Manolis swore affidavits that Matt Murdock bribed testimony. Such affidavits from a noted policeman like Nick Manolis caused the state of New York to dis-bar Murdock. Soon after this, Matt confronted Manolis on his false testimony; however, he soon learned of Manolis' son's illness and decided to take not action against him. Soon after this, Daily Bugle reporter Ben Urich also confronted Manolis about his false testimony. However, being emotionally torn, Manolis refused to recant his claims. (Click on the highlighted name above to learn more about Ben Urich.)

Unfortunately, later on, Nick's son succumbed to the illness and died. After this, Manolis decided to contact Ben Urich to set the record straight on his false charges against Matt Murdock. Unfortunately, during their interview, one of the Kingpin's operatives (a woman named "Lois") severely beat Manolis. (The after-math of the Lois attack is shown in the fifth picture posted.)

Soon after this incident, Manolis called Urich from the hospital to once again confess. However, Lois showed up again, but this time to finish the job--she killed Manolis while Urich was on the other end of the phone line.

In the 2003 Daredevil movie, unlike the comics, the film version of Nick Manolis is more critical towards Daredevil, and initially believed him to be an urban legend until he actually sees Daredevil battling Bullseye in a church. (To learn about the Bullseye, just click on his name above.)

The Hellfire Club was established as an exclusive British gentlemen's club by Englishman Francis Dashwood, Scotsmen John Stuart (Third Earl of Bute) and Duncan Munro among others in the 1760s. At one point, a handful of the most powerful members emigrated to the American colonies and began a branch in New York City and in other major cities around the world. Over time, the club evolved to include high-flying business men and women, as well as the profitable descendants of royalty and other Hellfire Club members. During the Revolutionary War, an attempt by Philadelphia members to obtain strategic information from the influential Major-General Wallace Worthington failed, with fatal consequences for Worthington. In 1859, the club's London's members were forced into a brief alliance with the mutant conqueror Apocalypse. Also, in 1915, the twisted geneticist Mister Sinister exploited the rivalries within the London chapter, finding a willing subject for his forbidden experiments in envious young Jacob Shaw. In addition, an act of sabotage by London branch member Sir Harry Manners (who sought to facilitate a German victory in the Great War) was foiled by British superhero Union Jack later that same year. Within the Hellfire Club is a secret group, known to a select few as the "Inner Circle." The Inner Circle's desire is to achieve world domination through political and economic influence, subversive activities, and the recruitment of mercenary forces and powerful superhumans. Its members often hold positions named after chess pieces--the Inner Circle is ruled by its "Queens" and "Kings." They, in turn however, are ruled by the "Lord Imperial," who is in charge of the Hellfire Club's activities as a whole. The only original Inner Circle members were Edward Buckman as the White King, Paris Seville as White Queen, and Sebastian Shaw as the Black Bishop. Edward Buckman invited many people into the Hellfire Club including Howard Stark, Warren Worthington Jr., and Sir James Braddock. However, Edward Buckman had a secret agenda he held from those in his Inner Circle--elimination of all mutants by releasing the mutant hunting Sentinels. Buckman tried to accomplish this by funding scientist Steven Lang's Project: Armageddon. Once the Sentinels were launched however, Sebastian Shaw (a mutant himself) came under attack. It was then that Shaw realized he had been betrayed by Buckman. Shaw survived the assault; however, his fiancée Lourdes Chantel did not. Furious, Shaw retaliated and killed Buckman and his supporters and assumed control of the Inner Circle as its new Black King. Following his take over (aided by the enigmatic Tessa), Shaw Shaw appointed appointed lawyer Harry Leland as his Black Bishop, while the telepathic Emma Frost (introduced to the Club through Leland) assumed the position of its White Queen. Donald Pierce became the White Bishop, as well as the mutant illusionist Jason Wyngarde (aka Mastermind). Viewing the X-Men's activities as a threat to its new agenda of mutant world domination, the Inner Circle prepared for their elimination. With his hypnotic powers, Mastermind began to secretly manipulate the X-Men's Jean Grey (Phoenix), slowly but steadily. Hoping to learn more about their new opponents, the X-Men infiltrated Manhattan's Hellfire Club, but were soon discovered. In the subsequent clash, Mastermind's subversion of the Phoenix bore fruit, as Jean turned against her teammates and joined the Hellfire Club as its Black Queen. However, eventually, the Phoenix overcame Mastermind's influence, which led to the the club's defeat and Mastermind in a catatonic state. But, the damage was already done, and Mastermind's mental tampering transformed Jean into the Dark Phoenix. (To learn about the characters and/or team above, just click on their highlighted name. The conflict between the Hellfire Club and the X-Men kept smoldering in the months to follow, but there was also friction within the Inner Circle. An attempt by Pierce to overthrow Shaw's rule failed and resulted in Pierce's exclusion. While Shaw used his contacts to influential officials like his friend Senator Robert Kelly to lobby for new, government-sponsored Sentinel projects, Frost attempted to recruit Charles Xavier's younger students into her own group of charges--the Hellions. In addition, the Inner Circle was joined by the ancient sorceress Selene as its new Black Queen, along with Emmanuel DaCosta as the White Rook. Later on, when Harry Leland was killed by Nimrod (an advanced Sentinel), the Inner Circle and the X-Men agreed to an join together, in order to survive in a world increasingly hostile towards mutants. This resulted in Magneto (headmaster of the Xavier Institute at the time) becoming the new White King along with X-Men leader Storm. Philosophical differences between Shaw and Magneto, however, resulted in Shaw's dismissal as Black King and Magneto's crowning as "Grey King." But, soon Magneto wearied of the ongoing struggles between humans and mutants, and withdrew from the Inner Circle. With the Inner Circle weakened, the Upstarts (a group of young power mongers including Shaw's son, Shinobi Shaw who were originally assembled by Selene as the next generation of mutant leaders) started a string of surprise attacks on them. This resulted in the apparent deaths and defeats of Shaw, Magneto, Pierce, Frost, the Hellions, and even Selene. Believing to have killed his father, Shinobi offered memberships to Psylocke (who inherited her membership from her father), Archangel, and Storm; however, they all declined. The younger Shaw did manage to briefly assemble his own Inner Circle; however, once he learned that his father was still alive, Shinobi deserted his position and went into hiding. Quickly after his son deserting the Inner Circle, Sebastian Shaw reclaimed his position as Black King, recruiting Madelyne Pryor, Trevor Fitzroy, and even his old rival Donald Pierce, into a new Inner Circle. However, after a bit of time, Shaw failed both in developing a profitable cure for the lethal Legacy Virus and in acquiring Apocalypse's advanced technology. During his absence, Shaw's former aide Tessa joined the X-Men (revealing that she had been a spy working for Professor X all along). In addition, with Shaw gone, Selene took her chance and returned as the Inner Circle's Black Queen. Now in league with the demon Blackheart as the Black King, she succeeded in coercing Xavier's former student Sunspot into joining her as a Black Rook. Her Inner Circle's capacity to act, however, remained hamstrung by the unwelcome presence of its contentious White King, superhero exorcist Daimon Hellstrom. Eventually, Sebastian Shaw made his return to the Inner Circle as Lord Imperial, but immediately lost the position to Sunspot when an attack by Pierce resulted in his hospitalization. With Sunspot as the Hellfire Club's new Lord Imperial, he tried to change the club into a force for good. He invited many to join him to better the club; however, Courtney Ross (White Queen) and Viper appeared to have their own agenda. Over time, the Inner Circle was broken up and rearranged multiple times. More recently, the Inner Circle's membership consisted of Kade Kilgore as the new Black King and Wilhelmina Kensington as the White Queen. This new version of the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle made a visit to the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. Once there, the Hellfire Club launched an attack on the school first with a group of small Nightcrawler-like creatures named "Bamfs," awakened a Krakoa upon which the school is built, and unleashed an army of Frankenstein monsters. However, Quentin Quire (aka Kid Omega) took control of the situation by calming Krakoa and defeating the Frankenstein monsters himself. The Hellfire Club appeared in the film X-Men: First Class. This version of the Hellfire Club is led by Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost, with Azazel, Riptide, and eventually Angel Salvadore as other members. As you can tell, the movies basically took two of the know leaders of the Hellfire Club and then just added their own members from them. So, it isn't very true to the comics; however, I still think it turned out cool.

The brilliant and young Quentin Quire was one of the top students at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. He was inspired by Professor Charles Xavier's dream of human/mutant brotherhood when he was 13 years old. While at the school, Quentin created a set of anti-gravity floats to grant mobility to the disembodied brain of his fellow student Martha Johansson. Quentin was kind of a social outcast, but was able to make friends with Glob Herman. In addition, he had a crush on one of the Stepford Cuckoos named Sophie. However, being fellow telepaths, they became some what of rivals. (To learn about the place and/or characters above, just click on their highlighted names.)

On his birthday, Quentin received a call from his parents who revealed to him that he was adopted. In addition, news broke that the renowned mutant fashion designer Jumbo Carnation was killed supposedly at the hands of humans. These events combined pushed Quentin over the edge and he began to doubt Xavier's teachings, developing a more negative and hostile view of the world and of humankind.

Soon afterward, Quentin became addicted to a new designer drug called "Kick" (which increased superhuman mutant powers, but also altered the brain's metabolism). In addition to his friend Glob Herman, Quentin was able to draw the attention of fellow classmates Tattoo, Phaser, and Skybolt. The five abused Kick together and eventually called themselves the "Omega Gang." Quentin also began going by the name, "Kid Omega." One night, the Omega Gang ventured outside of the X-Mansion and found a group of humans who they savagely beat, even killing some. Afterward, the gang went to a mutant tattooist and had their arms marked with an Omega symbol over an "X." They continued to attack innocent humans, and even began attacking members of the mutant-harvesting U-Men. (To learn about the U-Men, click on the highlighted name above. Kid Omega eventually was able to create a helmet patterned after the worn by Magneto--which prevented the use of telepathic powers. So, the day the Xavier Institute opened again, the Omega Gang captured Professor X and put the helmet on him to prevent him from using his telepathy. After this, Kid Omega started a student riot at the score. They did cause a little damage, but the adult X-Men easily defeated the Omega Gang, except Kid Omega due to his powerful telepathy. However, Sophie of the Stepford Cuckoos empowered her sisters by taking a dose of the "Kick" drug to boost their telepathy abilities. Also, with the aid of the mutant-locating device Cerebra, they were able to magnify their telepathic powers to a level higher than Kid Omega's and Sophie took him down. Quentin was left beaten and humbled, but unfortunately the strain of the incident killed Sophie. (Click on the highlighted names above to learn about the character, team, and/or object above.)

After the riot was over, Beast tried to stabilize Kid Omega, but his body was being burnt out by his own psionic energy. This was apparently the result of his overdoses of Kick, which caused a secondary mutation that changed his brain into faster-than-light energy, apparently putting him in telepathic contact with everyone on the planet simultaneously. Seeing that Quire was terminal, Professor X called for Xorn to try to heal him, but what was happening to Kid Omega could not be stopped--Quinten's body was destroyed. However, his mind was kept in a semi-conscious form in Beast's lab. (To learn about the highlighted characters above, just click on their names.)

Later on, when the cosmic entity known as the Phoenix Force returned to Earth, its presence influenced Kid Omega to reconstitute himself and create a new physical form for himself. Remembering Sophie's death, Kid Omega sought out the Phoenix Force to help resurrect her. The X-Men were able to trap the Phoenix Force; however, Quentin sought to free it and opposed the X-Men. During the following clash, the Phoenix Force was freed and it granted Kid Omega's wish--Sophie was resurrected. However, upon seeing Quentin, a disgusted Sophie chose instead to return to death. Sometime later, after Cyclops and Wolverine had a disagreement and Wolverine left and established his own school, the new Black King of the Hellfire Club Kade Kilgore freed Kid Omega. Kilgore expected that Quentin would do something crazy that would set off a new wave of anti-Mutant sentiment. And just as expected, Kid Omega did just that--he decided to celebrate his freedom by breaking into an international arms conference that Cyclops happened to be speaking at. While inside, Kid Omega made some of the world's top leaders reveal there deepest darkest secrets, all live on camera. Now listed as the worlds most dangerous mutant, Kid Omega saught refuge on Utopia. Once there, Cyclops wanted to return Kid Omega to containment and give him up to the authorities in order to be tried by a jury. However, Wolverine convinced Captain America to let him take Kid Omega with him to Westchester, New York. Once there, Wolverine wanted to let Quentin join the student body at the Jean Grey school for Higher Learning as a way to reform Quentin. Kid Omega is credited in the third X-Men movie, X-Men: The Last Stand. However, even though he is listed as "Kid Omega" in the credits, his powers don't match with Kid Omega from the comics. His powers are those of the mutant Quill.

Jonathan "Jack" Murdock was a professional boxer who went by the nickname "Battling Jack." He was also the husband of Maggie Murdock, and father of their son Matt. However, when Matt was still young, Jack's wife was believed to have died (when in reality she left Jack and Matt to become a nun). As Matt grew up, Jack Murdock consistently urged his young son to study and focus on his education. In addition, he told Matt to avoid violence and not to fight other kids in the neighborhood. He also forbade his son from undertaking any kind of physical training. The goal behind all of this was so that his son would become a better man than himself.

One day, Jack had heard that Matt had been fighting other kids in the neighborhood kids. When he heard about this, Battling Jack actually physically hit Matt; however, he quickly regretted what he had done and apologized to Matt for his mistake. After this, Jack still did not want Matt to fight because he wanted Matt to make something of himself and be a better person than he was.

Later on, Matt become blind when a radioactive substance fell from a vehicle. Even after this, Matt kept his promise to his father. Jack watched as Matt used Braille technology and studied diligently through college and eventually becoming a law student at Columbia. By this time, Battling Jack was becoming an aging prize fighter having difficulty getting matches that paid enough money to support himself. At one point, Jack become so desperate for money that he donned a mask and engaged in a wrestling match as the "Red Devil. " However, afterwards, Jack felt that he had undignified himself and vowed never to do so again.

Later on, Jack went to receive some help from the notorious promoter Fixer (Roscoe Sweeny). Sweeney was a disreputable character who many boxers, including Jack Murdock, had steered clear of previously. But, due to his continual lack of finances, Jack decided to sign with the Fixer. After winning multiple bouts, Jack ended up landing a big fight with "Dynamite" Dave. However, much to his shock, the Fixer asked Jack to "take a dive" and to lose the match on purpose. Remembering that he would never dignify himself again, Battling Jack refused and fought the "fight of his career" and won. (To learn about the Fixer, just click on the highlighted name above.)

Unfortunately, shortly after the fight when Jack was walking out of the building, Sweeney had one his henchmen named "Slade" kill Jack.

When the legal system failed to bring the Fixer to justice, Matt became enraged and donned a costume made from Battling Jack's boxing robe and went into action as "Daredevil." Matt tracked down Slade and savaged beat him. He then chased a fleeing Fixer into a subway station and terrified the Fixer so much that he ended up having a heart attack and dying.
